Intellectual property (IP) encompasses creations of the human mind, such as inventions, literary and artistic works, designs, symbols, names, and images used in commerce. Different countries recognise various types of intellectual property to differing extents. Trademarks, Copyrights, Patents, Trade secrets, Industrial Designs, and Geographical Indications (GI) are the most well-known types of Intellectual Property. Intellectual property rights (IPR) grant creators’ exclusive control over the use of their creations, though recognition of these rights can vary by country.

Intellectual Property Association of Bangladesh (IPAB) is a national common platform to fight on intellectual property rights (IPR) issues in Bangladesh since 2004.  It is a welfare organization with a government license that is advocating for the rights of IP holders, shaping policy, and raising public awareness to protect and promote intellectual property in Bangladesh. With over 430 members, including corporate entities, law firms, and individuals, IPAB plays a key role in promoting and protecting intellectual property interests.

To protect and promote the intellectual property rights of our members and the broader community by advocating for fair policies, enhancing public understanding, and fostering innovation and creativity in Bangladesh.

Our landmark project, ‘a2z’ a Modern Business Solution aims to establish Bangladesh as a leader in innovation and intellectual property protection, valuing, acknowledging, and safeguarding originality and creativity for the benefit of stakeholders.
